Length: Male: 41 – 61 inch Female: 37 – 58 in
Weight: 147 -226 lbs.
Lifespan
Wild: 8 years Zoo: 18 years

Behavior:
Mountain lions are solitary and secretive animals.

Reproduction/lifespan:
A female mountain lion reaches sexual maturity at about 2 ½ years of age, but usually will not mate until she is 3 years old. Most births occur in late winter and early spring. The cubs are born with spotted coats which they will keep until they are about 6 months old.

Diet Carnivore:
Wild: From small rodents to large deer
Zoo: Nebraska Feline Meat, Chicken, Bones 1 x week

Habitat/range: Parts of the United States, Mexico, South America

Status: Endangered

Other:
Threatened species due to habitat loss. The mountain lion has many different names including cougar, puma, and panther.
